it's about time

i like to draw, sometimes when the mood is right, i love to draw and paint. so, about 2-3 years ago i drew a rose on a small [10inch x 10inch] canvas and i never really got around to paint it. i guess i didn't want to ruin it by painting it the wrong colours. for a while i was thinking i'd do a black and white picture, but then i thought why not paint it all sorts of colours and do this retro background.

well for 2-3 years it sat there in my room, looking at me and saying paint me paint me. well i finally did it! but i didn't paint it, i used pastels. i love pastels - the way you can smudge them and really get into it, you know what i mean? well i guess you wouldn't if you never tried it. anyways, i used pastels. i coloured it red, a deep blood red and accented with black. the background is still white, maybe i'll paint it or something in another 2-3 years, who knows! but yeah it looks great, and i'm really happy with the outcome!!
